Il limone di Rocca Imperiale IGP Rocca Imperiale è un paese dell’alto Jonio cosentino dove si coltivano varietà di limoni appartenenti al gruppo “Femminello”. Il frutto ha una forma allungata di medie dimensioni e con un peso di oltre 100 grammi; la resa del succo è molto elevata superiore al 30%; i semi sono quasi assenti ed il profumo della buccia risulta intenso ed eccellente. Dal punto di vista qualitativo il limone di Rocca Imperiale IGP mette in evidenza ottime credenziali, infatti i risultati derivanti dalle analisi hanno messo in luce una elevata quantità di “limonene” superiore al 70% (degli idrocarburi totali), “apinene” e “y” trepinene. Tale caratteristica conferisce al limone un aroma molto particolare. L’elevato contenuto di zuccheri nel succo attenua il sapore acido rendendo il limone molto gradevole al palato.
The lemon of Rocca Imperiale PGI Rocca Imperiale is a small town placed in the upper lonian Area of the province of Cosenza, where are cultivated varieties of lemons belonging to the ‘Femminello’ group. This fruit has an elongated shape, medium dimensions and a weight over 100 gr (0.22 lbs); the juice yield is very high, more than the 30%, the seeds are almost absent and the smell of the peel is strong and excellent. From the qualitative point of view The Lemon of Rocca Imperiale PGI shows excellent credentials, as revelaed by the results of the analysese, showing a high quantity of ‘Limonene’, more than 70% of the total hydrocarbons, ‘alpha-pinene’ and gamma- terpinene’. The inner feature gives a special aroma to the lemon and probably the high quality of sucrose in the juice attenuates the sour flavour, making our lemon very palatable.
